00:02:43: Shannon essentially birthed modern digital communications back in uh... and he defined information mathematically as the resolution of uncertainty.

00:02:56: so his framework treats information not as like meaning or narrative.

00:03:01: it treats It As A Quantifiable Reduction In Possible States.
